a surprise vow renewal at Limetree Beach, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

22 YEARS AGO, RIGHT HERE IN ST. THOMAS, RICH AND LISA MET EACH OTHER. TWO YEARS LATER, THEY WERE MARRIED. AND A FEW YEARS AFTER THAT, THEY STARTED A FAMILY.

A few months ago, Rich reached out to me. He, his wife, family, and some friends just happened to be planning a cruise that would stop in St. Thomas near his anniversary date. To make their stop in port in St. Thomas extra special, he wanted to surprise his bride-that-was with a renewal of vows ceremony.

I love surprise events, especially when the photographer has to hide in the bushes. But when photos are involved, I always caution my clients to make sure you find a way to ensure everyone is dressed their best. To do this, Rich suggested to Lisa that they schedule a family photo session while in port.

According to plan, Rich told Lisa that they’d be doing some family photos while in port. What a surprise to arrive to the beach and find a gorgeous ceremony set up. SURPRISE!

Originally scheduled for Magens Bay, Rich decided to change the location to Limetree beach. His reasoning was that since they met at Magens Bay, it seems right to start the new chapter of their lives with a different view.
